Privacy Policy

CostOfOne is designed as a local-first personal spending tracker. The app helps you capture expenses, budgets, categories, and budget progress on your iPhone.

Information You Enter

CostOfOne stores the spending entries, budgets, categories, settings, and budget history that you create in the app. This information is stored on your device in encrypted app storage.

Voice Capture

If you use voice entry, CostOfOne uses Apple Speech and microphone access to turn your spoken expense into text. CostOfOne does not retain audio recordings. Apple Speech processing is handled by Apple according to your device settings and Apple's applicable terms.

Device Security

CostOfOne can use Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode through iOS LocalAuthentication to unlock the app. CostOfOne receives only a success or failure result from iOS and does not receive your biometric data or passcode.

Cloud Accounts

The current iPhone app does not require a CostOfOne account, email sign-in, or Cognito sign-in for its core local-first workflow.

Data Sharing

CostOfOne does not sell your personal information. The app does not share your locally stored transactions with advertisers or data brokers.

Deleting Data

You can delete local CostOfOne data from the app's settings by using Reset Local Data. Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes its local app storage from that device.
